Hi! My name is Ruchira Sehgal. I am a writer, researcher, script reader, and—when it comes to stories—I am Sherlock Holmes in the making. No character will go unnoticed !
I live in Mumbai with my loving husband who thinks he has married a writer whose work will be read and seen in many countries….one day. And, every time he says as much, he takes a pause and adds, “Amen”.
He is not the only dreamer in our family. My extra loving (and extra-possessive) mother thinks she has given birth to Amrita Pritam’s re-incarnation. In between all this, my father helps me keep it real by telling me, “Yeah, it’s okay, the field is competitive. But, as long as you stay on the path, you’ll reach where you are headed.”
So, where am I headed? Well, I am headed towards living a content life. By content, I don’t necessarily mean lavish. A content life for me is one that is dedicated to giving more than it is to receiving. At all times, living my truth and never betraying my values. And, last but not the least, it’s a life dedicated to becoming a better writer, daughter, wife, friend, and blogger.
It’s a life dedicated to becoming a better me.
And then, who knows? Life might just throw in better luck and opportunities for me.
“What if” is the philosophy I use to get unstuck in life. Think about it: how does your brain function when you are fearful or when you arrive at a solution? If we verbalize it then our brain either says, “what if you fail” or it says, “what if you win”. I consciously choose the later…for the most part.
What if there are four people sitting at a table with one Brownie on it? I would be the last one to pick up a piece. If there is none left for me, then I’ll politely smile and leave the table. I’ll keep moving until I am where I am supposed to be. Where I am supposed to be is at a table where each person offers their share to the other, some coffee is ordered, and discussion about life and movies never stops.
If you think you belong at the same kind of table, then join me and share about yourself. I’d be very glad to befriend more like-minded people.
If you would like to know more about my “what if” philosophy, keep reading.
